“Maintaining he has ‘not done anything wrong,’ deposed president Joseph Estrada on Monday filed his Certificate of Candidacy for the country’s highest post.” Got that from Yahoo! Philippines.
In the said article, “Estrada said he is confident he could run despite provisions in the constitution that forbids a chief executive from seeking another term.” Estrada, who was ousted in 2001 via People Power and convicted of plunder in 2007, said that they have hired the services of legal luminaries, retired justices and the deans of different law schools and they said that he is ” much very qualified to run for the presidency.” [may kasunod pa po...]

Buckle up. Fasten your seatbelts. And ready for the price hike. You know what happens after the election in the Philippines. Businessmen try to recover what they lose in the election. That’s post-election though, and maybe we will be able to somehow stop this after-effect if we get to know our presidentiables better. The information below about who are the possible personalities to run for presidency isn’t enough but I do hope it helps. [may kasunod pa po...]

Hypocrisy is defined by asnwers.com as “an act or instance of such falseness.” That’s what I was thinking when I opened a particular email before–perhaps a month ago–which I didn’t bother to share. Earlier, my mom opened her inbox and she got the same “spam” I received. In it, the President Gloria Arroyo is being compared with a dog. They’re both being shown praying with closed eyes and hands (or paws) together but the question is, “Who is more sincere?” [may kasunod pa po...]

What the crocodiles in the government’s eaten… In Filipino: Mga Kinain ng mga Buwaya sa Gobyerno.
That was the subject of the email I received last week. It concerned about the bill of what President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her large entourage from the Philippines ate at Le Cirque, a world-famous French restaurant in New York. The cost ran up to $20,000 according to The New York Post’s page six section on August 7.
For anyone who is anti-Arroyo, this is another reason why the current administration should settle down and just say “Bye-bye Malañang. Bye-bye.” For those who do not belong tothe pro-PGMA percentage of the Filipino population, you may want to consider the information below for a change of mind: [may kasunod pa po...]

If you don’t know yet, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo a.k.a PGMA ranks number 44 among the Top 100 Most Powerful Women on earth (despite her despite her declining popularity in the Philippines) with with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, as the most powerful for the last four years. That’s is according to Forbes magazine’s listing for 2009 published on August 19, 2009 at 6:00 PM EDT and which listing project started in 2004. It is edited by editor Liz MacDonald and staff writer Chana R. Schoenberger, and based on visibility and economic impact (economic impact?). [may kasunod pa po...]

Once and for all, let me clarify that I’m not saying that the late President Cory Aquino was a slut. She, being the mother of Philippine Democracy, was greatly respected and loved. Until now.
I was searching the web for a good topic to blog about then I stumbled upon this particular discussion on flickr. The topic pertains to news that came out on Philstar.co. First paragraph: Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim yesterday called on all Filipinos to denounce what he described as an attack made by a United States television show [The Daily Show with John Stewart] on former President Corazon Aquino, which branded her as a “slut.” The said US program showed a file photo of Pres. Aquino with word “slut” underneath it which a colloquial term for a woman of loose morals or, in a more familiar term, prostitute. [may kasunod pa po...]

It’s not like Friendster that you can change the layout. It’s not YouTube or MySpace which per se a video sharing site. I wonder though why so many have migrated to this new social networking platform. I wonder why I open my FB account everyday when what I do is just opening it. The site’s design is plain simple. Anyway, so much for that. I don’t have enough brainspace to think about the answers.
Let me just share with you the corporate email I received one dawn. It has nothing to do with the company though but wit hfacebook. What if internet was a part of Pres. Aguinaldo’s time? What if social networking was a daily-life-thingy then? What if this site in motifs of blue already existed that time? You just can’t imagine. Consider the following pictures:

Have you noticed the yellow ribbon image beside the Friendster logo when you open the site? If you haven’t then maybe because it can be seen if you’re accessing the internet within the Philippine geographical location only. Nowadays, the yellow ribbon reminds Filipinos of one particular person: Cory Aquino.
The yellow ribbon fever all started with yellow bows tied to trees and posts - a simple yet powerful gesture of support for Tita Cory who had been battling for cancer. Within days, it had spread all over the web– bloggers customized their theme with yellow shades — some twitter users changed their profile photos to a yellow ribbon — until she died recently. The ribbons still remain posted though. The one on Friendster links to the profile of Cory Aquino which was either created by her when she was alive or was made in her memory. [may kasunod pa po...]
