“Maintaining he has ‘not done anything wrong,’ deposed president Joseph Estrada on Monday filed his Certificate of Candidacy for the country’s highest post.” Got that from Yahoo! Philippines.
In the said article, “Estrada said he is confident he could run despite provisions in the constitution that forbids a chief executive from seeking another term.” Estrada, who was ousted in 2001 via People Power and convicted of plunder in 2007, said that they have hired the services of legal luminaries, retired justices and the deans of different law schools and they said that he is ” much very qualified to run for the presidency.” [may kasunod pa po...]

Pound for pound boxing champ Manny Pacquiao used to be the favorite subject for big personality photoshop editing. He used to be. But because the May 2010 Philippine general election is fast approaching, this time, it is our 2010 presidentiables‘ turn. I got the these funny pictures from my mom’s blog. I searched the web for the original source and found it posted on Gerald Magno’s facebook account. [may kasunod pa po...]

And so the title of the particular post I mad e that day was wrong. I’m talking about the Facebook controversy that (not Jacqueline Bermejo but) Mikey Arroyo, PGMA’s son, has been involved in. Mikey was allegedly seen at Rustan’s liquor section asking for a brand of a hard alcoholic drink just a few kilometers away from Katipunan where people were needing help for search and rescue. In the email I receive, the photo was captioned as:
“Was buying food for keeps… then we saw Mikey Arroyo in Rustan’s Liquor Section asking the salesman for a brand of hard alcoholic drink. Effin Crazy! Just a few kilometers away from Katipunan, people are needing help for search and rescue, and there he was buying bottles of alcohol. See for yourself and tell me what you think.” [may kasunod pa po...]

Many have reached out to the victims of typhoon Ondoy. Hollywood celebrities like Demi Moore tweeted for help. Local stars like Jericho Rosales and Gerald Anderson braved the floodwater to rescue their neighbors. Call center agents (like me) were asked for monetary donations through salary deductions. Others showed their empathy in goods. And how about those politicians? What do you expect? They gave donations as per of their campaign. Look at the picture down there. [may kasunod pa po...]

I got to know about this when I checked on my email this morning. Mikey Arroyo was caught buying alcoholic drinks while typhoon Ondoy was raging around Metro Manila. I’m not sure though whether it’s really he. The picture is kind of blurry. If this was ever true, then shame on him!
The original message is down there: [may kasunod pa po...]

Buckle up. Fasten your seatbelts. And ready for the price hike. You know what happens after the election in the Philippines. Businessmen try to recover what they lose in the election. That’s post-election though, and maybe we will be able to somehow stop this after-effect if we get to know our presidentiables better. The information below about who are the possible personalities to run for presidency isn’t enough but I do hope it helps. [may kasunod pa po...]

This post’s title is an overstatement but an experimental AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) vaccine has for the first time cut the risk of infection in humans–this is what scientists called a breakthrough in the quarter-century fight against the epidemic.

Hypocrisy is defined by asnwers.com as “an act or instance of such falseness.” That’s what I was thinking when I opened a particular email before–perhaps a month ago–which I didn’t bother to share. Earlier, my mom opened her inbox and she got the same “spam” I received. In it, the President Gloria Arroyo is being compared with a dog. They’re both being shown praying with closed eyes and hands (or paws) together but the question is, “Who is more sincere?” [may kasunod pa po...]

What the crocodiles in the government’s eaten… In Filipino: Mga Kinain ng mga Buwaya sa Gobyerno.
That was the subject of the email I received last week. It concerned about the bill of what President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her large entourage from the Philippines ate at Le Cirque, a world-famous French restaurant in New York. The cost ran up to $20,000 according to The New York Post’s page six section on August 7.
For anyone who is anti-Arroyo, this is another reason why the current administration should settle down and just say “Bye-bye Malañang. Bye-bye.” For those who do not belong tothe pro-PGMA percentage of the Filipino population, you may want to consider the information below for a change of mind: [may kasunod pa po...]

If you don’t know yet, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo a.k.a PGMA ranks number 44 among the Top 100 Most Powerful Women on earth (despite her despite her declining popularity in the Philippines) with with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, as the most powerful for the last four years. That’s is according to Forbes magazine’s listing for 2009 published on August 19, 2009 at 6:00 PM EDT and which listing project started in 2004. It is edited by editor Liz MacDonald and staff writer Chana R. Schoenberger, and based on visibility and economic impact (economic impact?). [may kasunod pa po...]
