Racism against the Filipinos has long been an issue. We’ve been the subject of many insults. Although many have already come out to depend our race, there are still lunatic souls who do the otherwise. Here are some of those “insulting events”:
- The writers of the show “Desperate Housewives” insulted Filipino doctors who are working in the US. In the episode titled “Now You Know” the character named Susan questioned the credibility of a gynecologist saying, “Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Cause I would just like to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.”
- Former and late President Cory Aquino was branded a “slut” [may kasunod pa po...]

And I got one more reason why I should be proud to be Pinoy. After many days of controversies that originated from Facebook and Twitter, here comes the a good news. Our very own fellow countryman Efren Peñaflorida made it to the top 10 of 2009 CNN Heroes- Ordinary People, Extraordinary Impact. He’s one of the remarkable individuals who have been selected by CNN’s Blue Ribbon Panel. [may kasunod pa po...]

The truth is slowly prevailing. And it seems like everyone will be eating his/her own dust for condemning the poor Jacqueline Bermejo about the controversial shoutout she allegedly made on Facebook. That doesn’t include me because I didn’t condemn her–oh well, I just accused her–I’ll still be eating my own dust then
.
Jacque’s supporters are just sprouting anywhere in the cyberspace which include a Facebook fanclub that by the time I checked on already had 6,430 members. Blog posts are also being made which are gradually leading to her innocence. [may kasunod pa po...]

Jacqueline Bermejo? She’s the woman behind the controversial selfish and insensitive shoutout on Facebook about typhoon Ondoy that made many Filipinos cursed her. That’s what most people know about her.
I tried to look for more information about Jacque over the internet but search results would just lead me to pages with offensive comments against her–commenters were actually wishing she was dead. And well, you cannot expect wikipedia to give you right away a dedicated page for an accidentally popularized name of a private person. This is what I found: [may kasunod pa po...]

When I made a post yesterday about Jacqueline Bermejo, I forgot to take into consideration the phrase “benefit of the doubt.” I wrote: “The worst thing you can do to your nation is to betray your fellow countrymen. Jacqueline Bermejo, an OFW from Dubai, did this when she posted her selfish reaction on Facebook about the typhoon Ondoy.” I have to admit that I had my own shortcoming when I did it. Well, not just me. Everyone else did. Everyone else still has. [may kasunod pa po...]

Enough of Jacqueline Bermejo. She’s someone unworthy to waste our precious time for. If we’d have to waste it, that should be for people who, despite of their social status, chose to risk their lives for others’ sake–even if they were celebrities.
Gerald Anderson and Jericho Rosales were caught in their heroics of saving some victims of typhoon Ondoy. Jericho, being a surfer, well, used his surfboard. Gerald on the other hand just made use his swimming skill. All thumbs up to Echo and Bokbok for proving that they aren’t just television heroes! [may kasunod pa po...]

The worst thing you can do to your nation is to betray your fellow countrymen. Jacqueline Bermejo, an OFW from Dubai, did this when she posted her selfish reaction on Facebook about the typhoon Ondoy. Nick Vujicic’s Life Without Limbs And Arms. That’s not a title of a book. And the picture is not of a sophisticated statue either. That’s Nick.
Anyone who saw a facial shot of Nick Vujicic and didn’t know him would think that he was a tall guy. He could also be an actor slowly forming his own star on the streets of the Hollywood. Or perhaps an athlete who just caused a major victory for the team or country he represented. But Nick is neither of those. He is not tall, not an actor, not an athlete. And he’s been literally living a life without limbs and arms. [may kasunod pa po...]

On September 5th just this year, Google made people wonder what its doodle that day was all about. When clicked, the doodle directs you to a search result page for the keyword “unexplained phenomenon.” The big G did not expose the reason behind the mysterious doodle. Everyone was supposing that it was providing a hint through a tweet on the company’s twitter account. The message in its entirety says “1.12.12 25.15.21.18 15 1.18.5 2.5.12.15.14.7 20.15 21.19″ which is still mysterious. [may kasunod pa po...]

I’ve always been passing by this newly put up pirated DVD store near my boarding house. At times, I would stop in curiosity and let my eyes stare at those pirated motions pictures being played. Lately, I noticed one particular item on display. It’s not a movie or a music video collection, not Pacquiao’s fights either. It’s the late President Cory Aquino’s funeral coverage. “Okay,” I told myself and head on my way.
There are things I realized though. [may kasunod pa po...]
