"Where Im from, Everyones a hero" design by Mark Gosingtian
Typhoon Ondoy left us all devastated. Maybe even shocked. The amount of rain that would normally fall in two weeks made its way to the Philippines in just three hours. Then came Peping. It avoided the Manila city proper but it hit northern provinces big time with deadly winds. Reportedly, three more typhoons are coming to test us. But we shall make it. Because “Where I’m from, everyone’s a hero.” [may kasunod pa po...]

Many celebrities have already done their part to help the victims of typhoon Ondoy. Some used twitter to ask for help. Some braved the flood water to rescue their neighbors even if they are “stars.” I also did my part this morning when I was forced to donate an amount to be deducted from my salary on the 15th. Joke. I did it in my own free will. What I donated isn’t enough. So I’ll be reblogging what pinoy chuva already posted.
Folks, let us extend our help to the victims of typhoon Ondoy. Just remember that what comes around, goes around. Here’s how you can help: [may kasunod pa po...]

Certainly not a good news everyone, especially to my fellow Filipinos. I opened Yahoo Philippines today and to my pity, another Philippine ferry sunk. Nine people were killed while two others remain unaccounted for after Iloilo-bound passenger ship MV SuperFerry 9 listed before sinking off the Zamboanga Peninsula early yesterday morning, September 6, that is according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
On Yahoo News, a passenger named, “Roger Cinciron said he felt the ferry tilting at about midnight but was assured by a crewman that all was well. About two hours later he was awoken by the sound of crashing cargo below his cabin, he told DZMM radio.”
The MV Princess of the Stars tragedy last year, June 20,2008, has not been completely forgotten yet and here comes [may kasunod pa po...]

I opened Yahoo Philippines and thought that I would find political news as the headlines like the other days, to find out that it would be the death of an influential religious leader. Eraño Manalo, head of Iglesia Ni Cristo, passed away today September 1, 2009 at age 84. According to the church’s spokesman Bienvenido Santiago, Ka Erdy died of a heart attack in his Manila home.
Eraño de Guzman Manalo also known as Ka Erdy to INC members was born on January 2, 1925. He took over the administration of the church after the death of hi father Felix Manalo on April 12, 1963 and became its Executive Minister. He was instrumental in the spread and expansion of the church internationally. He previously held office as its General Treasurer and as a District Minister of Manila. (A short autobiography of his can be found on Inquirer.net)
While most of us are Catholics and we’ve had many religious disagreements with the Iglesia Ni Cristo, we still belong to one country. Let us pray for his soul.
