Remembering MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS

Go Go Power Ranger. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers…

At the young age of 22, I maybe perhaps already having Alzheimer’s disease. Heaven forbid! Actually, I’m just trying to reminisce my childhood.

I first heard of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1994. That was one of the years when every shows that involved magic (or just camera tricks) looked attractive to me. If  you had your childhood, you’d understand me. We didn’t have TV that time but it didn’t stop me from being addicted to that superhero series. Every Friday night, I would go to my neighbor’s house just to watch the show even if I had an argument with my neighbor ’s son earlier that day. Who cared? It wasn’t he that I went for there; it’s the TV!

Unfortunately, Friday wasn’t always Friday to me. My mom would ask me to read books even if I didn’t have class the next day. Correction: my mom asked me  to review but since I didn’t know what it meant and how to do so, I just read. And by the time I was already finished with it, Power Rangers that night had also ended. But it wouldn’t end there. I in fact dreamed about it and did some karate. And literally kicked the wall.

Too bad, those folk messed up with the show. The original characters, Jason (red), Billy (blue), Zack (black), Trini (yellow) and Kimberly (pink) were slowly replaced.

By the way, did I mention that I missed the Might Morphin Power Rangers pilot episode? So I searched for it. Here’s the video:

Thank you brother! I was just questioned by another about the color/character arrangement of the original show. Your blog validated me. I'm 26, and my older brother and I used our parents TV, coming home from school before they arrived from work. The show was considered "gay", so we had to keep our passion for the show taboo, but PLEASE BELIEVE (!!!) that we were there opening day at the silver screen premiere. I have no shame in my adoration of the show now. Looking back....5(+/-) friends at the dojo EVERYDAY(!) ? That's sick! Just realized your site is filipino. Ha! Makes sense. My daughter's mother is filipino. one of my best friends is fili, and my brother and I started studying Kali when I was 10....you guys are takin over. More power to you. Hmmm.......what ever happended to VR Troopers?...Nah, horrible question....

  • I remember seeing the movie when it was released. I was a great fan of kungfu. But once I saw an episode on TV bout an young struggling actress and came to know that she was the actress who acted in power rangers.
