What’s up with The Filipino Blogger?

by enad on January 7, 2010

It’s been a while since the last time I made a post to this blog–almost a month. When I tried to login to the admin panel, I was even quite hesitant if I still remembered my login; luckily my computer did. And I was also surprise to find out that this blog is already PR3 when I seldom make post.

So what’ s up with my world? [may kasunod pa po...]

Another Ultimate Fighting Championship event is on its way. The UFC 107 fight between BJ “The Prodigy” Penn and Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez will be held on December 12, 2009  at 6pm PT / 9 pm ET / 10 am Manila Time at Fedez Forum, Memphis, Tennessee.

As mentioned in the UFC site, “Unbeaten BJ Penn, who has ruled the lightweight division with an iron fist for nearly eight years, finishing top contenders Joe Stevenson,, Sean Sherk, and Kenny Florian along the way, will face a challenger as willing as he is to leave it all o the line in the Ultimate Fighter season on winner Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez, who has reinvented himself as a relentless cardio machine that won’t stop moving forward until he wears the UFC championship belt around his waist.” [may kasunod pa po...]

Manny Pacquiao number one one Yahoo! Philippines top searches? No doubt. If there was one Filipino that  mostly everyone in the world knew, that would be Manny Pacquiao (even PGMA has no match against him). Having gotten his seventh world title in boxing, he is now the world’s number pound for pound boxer (not that Gayweather, right?). Not to mention that fact that, in the Philippines, during his previous fights, the country seemed to stop–everyone’s eyes are on his/her TV screen or computer monitor, no traffic, and if I’m not mistaken no criminal incidents on those days. Erap for President. Again?

by enad on November 30, 2009

“Maintaining he has ‘not done anything wrong,’ deposed president Joseph Estrada on Monday filed his Certificate of Candidacy for the country’s highest post.” Got that from Yahoo! Philippines.

In the said article, “Estrada said he is confident he could run despite provisions in the constitution that forbids a chief executive from seeking another term.” Estrada, who was ousted in 2001 via People Power and convicted of plunder in 2007, said that they have hired the services of legal luminaries, retired justices and the deans of different law schools and they said that he is ” much very qualified to run for the presidency.” [may kasunod pa po...]

In just a week, another Ultimate Fighting Championship fight was held. After UFC 105, came UFC 106 with Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin in the main event. Forrest Griffin defeated Tito Ortiz via Split Decision in the main-main event. Unfortunately, I had an exam at the CPA review center the day it was held; this is something I wasn’t able to watch. What do you think would I do then? [may kasunod pa po...]

The Twilight Saga: New Moon just started showing last November 20th. This movie must really be a box-office hit like its predecessor. In less than a week it is believed to be already raking up to $100 M.

Despite its success, it irked the the Vatican City–the place of pious men. Monsignor Franco Perazzolo of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council of Culture, has condemned the Twilight sequel, blasting it as “deviant” and a “moral vacuum.”

“Whatever.” Most likely, if you were a Bella-Edward big fan, that would be your respond.

Speaking  of success, many have also wanted to have a share of this movie’s success. And they are called pirates. I honestly didn’t think that full-length movie streaming of The Twilight Saga: New Moon would be available very sooner. Vampire lover, here the movie goes. [may kasunod pa po...]

Just exactly a week after the UFC 106 Couture vs Vera fight and here comes another Ultimate Fighting Championship event– UFC 106: Tito Ortiz vs Forrest Griffin. Here’s a bit of info taken from the UFC official site itself:

“In 2006, UFC superstars Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin engaged in a memorable battle for the ages. UFC 105: Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera Fight Replay video (full)

Many of you might have missed the UFC 105 fight, especially the main event, the UFC 105 fight between Randy Couture and Brandon Vera. I also missed it. I was asleep when the happened so I wasn’t able to place a live stream of their fight to this site. To compensate, I’m posting the fight replay video. This one is only between Couture and Vera though.

And by the way, don’t be selfish; share this vid with others. [may kasunod pa po...]

Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto fight replay video (full)

I already made posts about the photoshopped pictures of Manny Pacquiao and persons related to him. I also wrote that he was included in this year’s ESPN Body issue and he had a live interview with Jimmy Kimmel (wherein he revealed that his dog’s name is also Pacman). But I have to say that Manny is a good fighter. And a humble one. He deserves to win the Pacquiao-Cotto Firepower fight even the rest of the world predicted that he wouldn’t be able to do so. He even did it via TKO. A kudos to Pacman!

Anyway here’s the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight replay video. If you’ve already exhausted your limit with megavideo, just leave a comment and I’ll look for an alternative. [may kasunod pa po...]
